Yto Barrada (1971, Paris)

lives and works between Paris and Tangier. She studied History and Political Sciences at Sorbonne University in Paris and Photography at International Center of Photography in New York. Her work has been widely exhibited in solo and group shows across Europe and USA, amongst which: Next Art Fair (Chicago), 2008; Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), 2008; Kitchen Art Gallery (New York), 2006; Museum of Modern Art (New York), 2005; Witte de With Centre for Contemporary Art (Rotterdam), 2004; Galerie Polaris (Paris), 2003. She is founder and director of the Cinémathèque de Tanger, based in Morocco.
